Whether your child is two, 12 or 20, separation anxiety can become an issue. For the two-year-old, it’s a normal part of development. For the older child, maybe starting first grade, a new school, or college, can trigger the anxiety. Mostly, it’s a matter of acknowledging the unknown and acting as if everything will be all right! Sometimes, it’s more serious, and the child may be reacting to bullying or abuse, either at school or at home.
